Jaya's father was a police officer at Bakshiganj police station in Jamalpur. I have known her since I was a child. I developed love affairs with Jaya in 2007. At that time, she was admitted to Rajshahi University. In 2015, she came to Dhaka, and two years later in February 2017, we tied the knot.
This is how Nanda Saha, a resident of Bakshiganj who is currently doing a job in the capital city of Dhaka, started to narrate a most painful and dramatic story of his life.
Jaya has become the talk of the town after it came to light that Diamond World's Managing Director Dilip Kumar Agarwala, who has recently been arrested on corruption charge, is his ‘second wife.’
This correspondent recently talked to Jaya's ex-husband Nanda Saha to know about the whole story about how he got trapped in Dilip Kumar’s ugly and evil plan.
Nanda Saha said, "Jaya joined Diamond World's Gulshan branch as a customer officer in February 2019. Initially, she told me that her employer was not a good man. I also learnt from various sources the truth of what Jaya said about her employer. A close friend of mine said she (Jaya) should quit the job there. Later, I noticed some messages on Jaya's phone. It seemed that Dilip was trying to convince her to do something. Then I told Jaya not to go to Dilip's office and she stopped going to the office. After some days, her mother told me that there will be no problem, if Jaya goes to the office. Then she again started going to office. But, few days later, Jaya told Nanda again that Dilip was not treating her well."
"In June 2020, I found a deed in Jaya's bag. It was written on a Tk 100 stamp: 'If you leave everything, I will give you a car and house. I swear in the name of the Creator. DIlip signed the stamp. “I will hold your hand for life if you leave your husband. Trust me,” he said.
"I got upset reading this and called Dilip, asking, 'Are you a human or inhuman?' He swore to God it wasn't his signature. Later, Nanda got angry and hung up the phone saying harsh words. Then Dilip complained to Jaya about the matter. After that, Jaya tore up the stamp. "
"I came to know from local people that Dilip had visited my in-laws' house in Durgapur twice.
He had developed a rapport with them."
"I called Dilip many times not to disturb our conjugal life. He spoke to me very softly, saying, 'Brother, I will not stand in the way of your life. You should live your life.”
"Suddenly, on September 21, 2021, Jaya left my house with luggage in Dilip's car. His driver Mainul was driving the car. I was in the office when my mother called me and said Jaya had left the house. Previously, I would see Jaya returning home late, often in Dilip's car. I questioned Dilip why he sent Jaya in his car. He suggested that I should accept it. We had several arguments about it. Then I told Dilip, 'What you're doing is not right; I will file a complaint against you.' This conversation took place on September 11. He said that he was in a meeting and would call me later, but he never did it. After that, Jaya left my house on September 21. When I called Jaya, she sent me a message, saying she would not return."
On September 21, Nanda contacted Dilip's wife Sabita Agarwala and told everything to her. Sabita told him that Dilip claimed that Jaya was just an employee. She also spoke to the driver Mainul about the matter, but he denied everything.
The next day on September 22, Nanda went to the Diamond World office but did not meet Jaya. Nanda said, "I called one of Jaya's colleagues, who said Jaya had gone on leave. I then called Dilip's wife. She met me at Premium Suites in Gulshan and brought Dilip alone. Dilip said, 'Forgive me. What do you need? I will do everything. I'll settle it. I'll bring her to your home.'"
"A week later on September 30, Jaya sent me a divorce letter. I couldn't reach Jaya anymore. I called Dilip again and begged him to return Jaya, but he told me that he was in a meeting and would call me later. But he never did it."
"Dilip called me once in 2022 and asked me to come to Gulshan-1 Gloria Jeans at 3:00pm. I went and begged him to return my wife. I put my mother on the phone. Dilip assured my mother that he would bring Jaya back to our home, but this did not happen."
"It was Jaya's birthday in May 2022. I went to Diamond World to wish her, but she didn't appear before me."
"On December 24, 2022, Dilip met me for the last time in the lobby of Hotel Westin. He told me to keep my phone away. A man with him said it was not right to hurt a man (Nanda Saha) anymore. Dilip accused me of making complaints to various places against him, which was not true. I told him to solve my problem. He promised me a chance to meet Jaya, but never saw him again. That was my last meeting with Dilip."
"Then I spoke to Jaya over phone. Jaya told me that she and Dilip had already met and discussed the matter, and there was nothing more to say. Jaya also said she would not come back. I should stay as I wish. The last thing I knew is that Jaya was taken by Dilip to his another home at Niketan in the city on September 21, 2021. Dilip used to visit there regularly."
"I gave up all hope in March 2023, as my office boss, who went to Diamond World office to settle the matter, but he failed to do it, putting me in utter distress."
"In June 2023, I learned that Dilip stayed at my in-laws' house that night. Jaya was also there. The people I know in that neighbourhood advised me to give up. It's over. You have no choice. But one thing always remains in my mind: I've liked her since she was a Class-V student."
"Jaya told me that Dilip had said that if she left me, he might not offer her social status but give her a house, a car and other facilities."
After narrating this incident, Nanda Saha says to this correspondent, "Now tell me how do I take legal action against them or against her? If the person whom I love does not want to come back, what can I do?" He also mentioned that in 2022, Dilip bought Jaya a flat and a Toyota car. Driver Mainul now drives that car.
"The last time I spoke to Dilip was in 2023. He told me, 'My family is very important to me; I have to protect my family. I have children. I have to live like this.'"
"Later, I came to know from people that Jaya married Dilip a long time ago. Jaya's mother is actually a greedy woman. Since Dilip has money and status, she didn't resist it."
"As far as I know, they got married when Dilip was contesting in the parliamentary elections,. He has left no loopholes in legitimising the relationship with Jaya."
"I learnt from people that Dilip has a rented or flat of his own near his office where he used to do various misdeeds particularly through emotional blackmail. "
