Hajj Pilgrims asked to complete registration payments

All pilgrims who have completed hajj registration have been asked to deposit the remaining amount of the registration amount in the bank. 

The Ministry of Religious Affairs issued a notice in this regard on Saturday.

According to the notification, as per the decision of the Saudi government, by February 25, both government and private means of Hajj pilgrims must complete tent adoption, Moallem adoption, house or hotel rental, transportation contract etc. in Mina. 

For this reason, the Hajj pilgrims who have deposited Tk 2.05 lakh in the year 2024 will have to deposit the remaining amount of the registration fee by February 20.

According to the website of the Ministry of Religious Affairs, 44043

 quotas are still vacant after the end of registration time. But Saudi Arabia set a quota of 127198 Bangladesh this year. Of these, 4,260 people have officially registered to go to Hajj. 78,895 people completed their registration under private management. 

A total of 83,155 people have registered. The remaining 44043 quotas will be returned to the Saudi Government.

This time Hajj registration started on November 15, 2023, which was supposed to end on December 10. In the first phase, the time was extended till December 31 as the expected response was not met. After that, the registration period was extended till January 18 in the second phase. In the third phase, the Ministry of Religious Affairs extended the time from January 25 to February 1. Due to the lack of response to the Hajj registration, the Hajj registration period was extended till February 6.

In the current year 2024, two packages for Hajj have been announced under the government management. Among them, the lowest package price is Tk 5,78,840. The price of the special package is Tk 9,36,320. 

On the other hand, the price of two packages in private management is Tk 5,89,800 and 8,28,818 respectively. 

Although the price of the lowest package this year has been reduced by Tk 1,04,160 compared to last year. However, the price of the current Hajj package is considered too high by those who are interested in going to Hajj.
