Gulshan residents participated in the Alpana Festival on Road No. 62 adjacent to the Lake Park in Gulshan-2 at around 10:30 pm on Monday. This Alpana painting event continued until late at night.

The festival was inaugurated by Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) Administrator Shafiqul Islam Khan, Gulshan Society President Barrister Omar Sadat and other leaders of the Gulshan Society. Local residents of Gulshan, including women and children, took part and enjoy the event.

DNCC Administrator Shafiqul Islam Khan said, ''We want all societies to organize such events. We are cooperating in these events. We want the city residents to be part of the festival.''

Regarding the event, Gulshan Society President Barrister Omar Sadat said, "To save the city, we need to organize cultural events. If we can involve people in such events, we can make the city beautiful. That is why we have organised this event. A city is not just concrete or buildings, to save the city, people need to be involved in various events."

Besides, like last year, Gulshan Society will organize various events including cultural events at Gulshan Lake Park on the occasion of Pohela Boishakh. The event will start on Tuesday afternoon.
