GPH Ispat inks partnership deal with BUET

GPH Ispat and BUET’s Rise in Intellectual Property Management will open up new possibilities in Bangladesh’s research and industrial sectors. This will be an important step in building a smart, innovative and self-reliant Bangladesh.

“MOA on Intellectual Property Management of BUET”, GPH will support Rise by organizing various seminars and workshops, where awareness about the importance, benefits, process and related laws of patents will be raised, which will gradually spread across the country.

This initiative will help in building the country’s knowledge-based economy and play a role in preventing brain drain.

Innovators from students, teachers, industry and other segments of society will get the opportunity to protect their new ideas, prototype, develop and commercialize them, which will open the way for additional income and social recognition.

A strategic partnership agreement was signed between GPH Ispat and BUET's Research and Innovation Center for Science and Engineering (RISE) on recently.

BUET Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Abu Borhan Mohammad Badruzzaman was present as the chief guest while GPH Group Chairman and GPH Ispat Limited Managing Director Mohammad Jahangir Alam was the special guest.

BUET Pro-Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Abdul Hasib Chowdhury was the guest of honor. The event was presided over by Rise Director Professor Dr. Mohammad Shariful Islam.

Mohammad Jahangir Alam, Chairman of GPH Group and Managing Director of GPH Ispat Limited, said, "This initiative is basically an attempt to preserve and utilize the results of research through patents. As a result, the knowledge and skills of the country's talented students and researchers will be used for national development by preventing intellectual property trafficking."

BUET Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Abu Borhan Mohammad Badruzzaman said, "This initiative by GPH Ispat is truly commendable, because it has given utmost importance to intellectual property. Through this, we will be able to control the intellectual property of our innovations and research."
