Govt to procure refined fuel oil worth Tk 10,006.63cr, 1 cargo LNG, 1,05,000MTs fertilizer

The government on Wednesday approved a proposal for procuring refined fuel oil from state-owned enterprises of various countries under government-to-government (G2G) system for the second half (July-December period) of 2025 at a cost of around Taka 10,006.63 crore as per the premium and reference price.

The approvals came from the 24th meeting of the Advisers Council Committee on Government Purchase (ACCGP) held at Bangladesh Secretariat with Finance Adviser Dr Salehuddin Ahmed in the chair.

Following a proposal from the Energy and Mineral Resources Division, refined fuel oil would be procured from PTTT, Thailand; ENOC, the United Arab Emirates; PetroChina Co Ltd (PetroChina), China; BSP, Indonesia; PTLCL, Malaysia; UNIPEC, China and IOCL, India.

In response to another proposal from the Energy and Mineral Resource Division, some 25,000 metric tons of Gasoline 95 Unleaded Octane would be procured from PT Bumi Siak Pusako Zapin (BSP), Indonesia with around Taka 208.63 crore.

Govt to procure 1 cargo LNG, 1,05,000 MTs fertilizer

The government on Wednesday approved separate proposals for procuring some 1 cargo LNG and 1,05,000 metric tons (MTs) of fertilizer to meet the growing demand of the country.

The approvals came from the 24th meeting of the Advisers Council Committee on Government Purchase (ACCGP) held at Bangladesh Secretariat with Finance Adviser Dr Salehuddin Ahmed in the chair.

Following a proposal from the Energy and Mineral Resources Division, the Petrobangla would procure one cargo LNG from the spot market from Vitol Asia Pte Ltd, Singapore at a cost of around Taka 569 crore by following international quotation collection method.

In response to a proposal from the Ministry of Agriculture, the Bangladesh Agricultural Development Corporation (BADC) would procure 40,000 MTs of MOP fertilizer under the 2nd lot from Canadian Commercial Corporation (CCC) under state-level agreement at a cost of around Taka 166.89 crore with per ton fertilizer costing $342.

In response to another proposal from the Ministry of Agriculture, BADC would procure 25,000 MTs of TSP fertilizer under the 2nd lot from Groupe Chimique Tunisien (GCT), Tunisia under state-level agreement at around Taka 167.75 crore with per ton fertilizer costing $550.

In response to another proposal, BADC would procure 40,000 MTs of DAP fertilizer from OCP NUTRICROPS, Morocco under state-level agreement at around Taka 346.48 crore with per ton fertilizer costing $710.
