Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal on Thursday said the government does not obstruct any political programmes of the opposition political parties,

He made the remarks while talking to reporters after attending the founding anniversary programmes of Ghatak-Dalal Nirmul Committee at Bangla Academy in the capital Dhaka.

The home boss said, “We do not hinder any political programme of the opposition political parties. They get permission whenever they want to hold rallies.”

“Please, don't close roads. It increases people's sufferings. You will not be able to resort to vandalism”, he continued.

About the latest allegation of Human Rights Watch (HRW) against Armed Police Battalion (APBn) of arbitrary arrests and harassment of Rohingya refugees, the home minister said, it is not fact-based.

He claimed that the Rohingyas indulge in killings in the camps and the APBn have been deployed there to do routine work.

What Human Rights Watch is saying is not based on facts, he further claimed.

“I think the HRW should prepare such reports after visiting the spot and collecting more information”, the minister said.

The HRW in the report on January 17 alleged that members of APBn were committing extortion, arbitrary arrests, and harassment of Rohingya refugees with impunity.

The HRW authorities said they prepared this statement interviewing over 40 Rohingya refugees, including 10 alleged victims who said they were detained on apparently fabricated grounds of trafficking Yaba pills.
