RAB has arrested a man named Zafar Ahmed (43) in a raid in Chaumuhoni Municipality of Noakhali Begumganj Upazila. He is a defendant in a case under the Explosives Act.
He was arrested from Hajipur area of Chaumuhani municipality on Saturday afternoon. The arrested Zafar Ahmed is the son of Abdus Sobhan of the area.
According to RAB, a team from RAB-11 CPC-3 Noakhali camp conducted an operation in Hajipur municipal area on the basis of secret information. During the raid, Zafar Ahmed, a fugitive accused in a case under the Explosives Act of Begumganj Police Station, was arrested. The accused had been absconding in various places for a long time to avoid arrest.
Additional Superintendent of Police Khandaker Mohammad Shamim Hossain, company commander of RAB-11 CPC-3 Noakhali camp, confirmed the matter and said that apart from the warrant, there were one drug case and two extortion cases against the accused at Begumganj police station.
After his arrest, he was handed over to Begumganj police station.
