Noakhali celebrates World Wildlife Day

Along with United Nations, The World Wildlife Day has been celebrated in Noakhali with the theme of ‘Recovering key species for ecosystem restoration’. UN decided to proclaim 3 March as World Wildlife Day.On the occasion of the day five birds rescued from different places of the district were released in the open sky.

The birds were released in front of the Deputy Commissioner's office on Thursday by the Deputy Commissioner, Divisional Forest Officer and officials of the Coastal Forest Department.

Later, a rally started in front of the deputy commissioner's office and encircled the main road in the city. At the end of the rally, a discussion was held in the conference room of the Deputy Commissioner.

Coastal Forest Department Noakhali Divisional Forest Officer Farid Mia presided over the discussion and Noakhali Deputy Commissioner Dewan Mahbubur Rahman was present as the chief guest while Habibia Range Officer Nahid Hasan conducted the program.

The Chairman of the Department of Environmental Science and Disaster Management of Noakhali University of Science and Technology University Mohammad Mahinuzzaman present as the keynote speaker. Officers and employees of district administration and coastal forest department and students of various educational institutions were present on the occasion.
