Gazi Group Chattogram are on a roll in the Bangabandhu T20 Cup. With Monday’s 10-run victory over Fortune Barishal at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur, they now won all three of their games they played in the tourney so far. They are also sitting comfortably at the top of the table.

Defending a somewhat challenging total of 151, Gazi Group Chattogram’s ace pace bowler Mustafizur Rahman performed brilliantly again as he scalped 3 wickets by giving away only 23 runs in his 4-over spell. Another pacer Shoriful Islam also chipped in with 3 wickets. The two left-arm pacers ran riot over Barshial batsmen to earn their team a victory.

After setting a target of 152, Chattogram bowlers were excellent with the bowl to restrict Barishal at 141/8. Coming in to chase a challenging total, Barishal’s Mehidy Hasan Miraz departed quickly after scoring 13-ball 13. Skipper Tamim Iqbal, was looking steady but the stalwart left-hander could not prolong his innings after a good start. He left the crease in the 11th over after a 32-ball 32.

After Tamim’s departure, Barishal never looked like they are going to win the game as they kept on losing wickets at regular intervals.

Earlier, Gazi Group Chattogram posted 151/7. Chattogram's opening pair of Liton Das and Soumya Sarkar have been outstanding so far in the tournament. Soumya however failed to play a big innings, as he departed after a 6-ball 5 in the third over. Liton, who picked up his first half-century in the previous game, continued from where he had left off. The delicate right-hander scored a 25-ball 35, filled with some classical text book cricket strokes.

Shykat Ali, who came in as a replacement of injured Mominul Haque, played a fiery knock to steer his team past 150. The right-hander played a cameo innings of 11-ball 27 that comprised off three big maximums off Abu Jayed in the penultimate over.
