Five students were stabbed during a clash between two groups in a madrasa in Gazipur's Sreepur upazila over a trivial matter on Wednesday.
The incident took place at Khaliliya Dakhil Madrasa in Garran village of the upazila.
"A clash broke out between two groups of students over seating on a bench. Five students of class 10 were injured in the attack by the class 9 students. They were later treated at a hospital," Sreepur Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mohammad Abdul Barik said on Thursday.
"No complaints have been received in connection with the incident," added the OC.
Gazipur District Education Officer Mohammad Al Mamun Talukder said, "There was a fight between students at the madrasa. I have asked the secondary education officer to take action subject to an investigation."
