A female domestic help died on Monday after falling from the rooftop of a building of a police officer in the city’s Malibagh.
The deceased was identified as Anwara Begum aged 40.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Shahjahanpur Police Station Sujit Kumar Saha confirmed the news.
She was hailing from Brahmanbaria district. She had been working at the residence as a domestic help at the residence of Md Tariqul Islam, assistant commissioner of the Detective Branch of Dhaka Metropolitan Police.
OC Sujit claimed that while walking on the roof of the 10-storey building in Malibagh’s Railgate area at around 11:30 am, she slipped and fell on the ground, becoming seriously injured.
Getting the information, police rushed to the spot and took her to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) where doctors declared her dead.
The body was kept in the hospital morgue for an autopsy, the OC added.
The exact reason behind the tragic death will be known after autopsy, he concluded.
