FBCCI urges neighbouring nations to work jointly to tap 4IR potentials

FBCCI President Md Jashim Uddin said that neighboring countries need to work together to seize opportunities of fourth industrial revolution. 

He made the call at the Leeds Festival 2021 organized by the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) on Wednesday.

On the second day of the two-day event, the FBCCI President highlighted various developments of digital Bangladesh at an online seminar titled "Future of India-South Asia 4th IR Partnerships".

He mentioned Bangladesh's artificial satellites in space, 4554 union digital centers across the country, e-procurement, smart health cards, increase in mobile and internet beneficiaries, mobile banking services, expansion of e-commerce and f-commerce and the use of state-of-the-art technology including robotics in industries. 

The FBCCI President said that Bangladesh ranked 57th in the Global Digital Platform Rankings and 4th in South Asia.

He said that Bangladesh is fully prepared to take advantage of the 4th Industrial Revolution through the timely policies of the government and the spontaneous participation of the general public.

The FBCCI President called upon the South Asian countries to work together to reap the maximum benefits of information technology. He said that Bangladesh could act as a regional bridge in South Asia due to its geographical location.

Mentioning Bangladesh’s celebrationof the 50th anniversary of independence and the birth centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the FBCCI President thanked India for its cooperation in the war of independence.

Sri Lanka's State Minister of Regional Cooperation Tharaka Balasuriya, FICCI South Asia Regional Council Chairman ManojChugh, FICCI Vice President Subhrakant Panda andDHL Global Forwarding India's Chief Executive Officer Niki Frank attended the online seminar, along with others.
