Fatema wins Tk 1 lakh prize in freelancing contest

FatemaMostari, a Bangladeshi female freelancer has won a prize-money of 100,000 BDT in Freelancing Innovation Contest 2021.The grand finale of contest, jointly organized by Dutch Foundation and CoderTrust Bangladesh, held recently.

Competitors from across the country came up with more than sixty innovative freelancing ideas in this competition organized under the auspices of Women Skill Development for Freelance Marketplace (WSDFM) project.

FatemaMostari Khan’s idea of freelancing on graphic designing was chosen as the best due to its simple phenomenon for connecting and facilitating the underprivileged and peripheral IT professionals who work in local photocopy and computing shops. On the basis of that evaluation, FatemaMostariKhan’s project was declared as the best. 

Prof. Dr.  Mohammad AkramHossain, Chairman of MIS Faculty of Dhaka University, Brigadier General (Retd.) Mr. Abdul Halim, Senior Adviser, CoderTrust Bangladesh and MahmoodMenon Khan, adjunct faculty , Department of Mass Communication and Journalism, Dhaka University and Editor of aparajeobangla.com were in the judges panel.

Former Chief Secretary to the Prime Minister Md. Abdul Karim was present as the Chief Guest while Aziz Ahmed, co-founder and chairman of CoderTrust Bangladesh, Mohammad MahadiUz Zaman, Chief Strategist of CoderTrust Bangladesh and Shahid Malik, a US-based businessman, joined online from USA.

CoderTrust Bangladesh is working for bringingpeople from all walks in the society to the world of freelancing through proper skill development trainings, said Aziz Ahmad.
