Eastern Refinery Ltd holds 46th AGM

The 46th annual general meeting of Eastern Refinery Limited (ERL), the country's only state-owned fuel oil refinery, a subsidiary of Bangladesh Petroleum Corporation (BPC), was held at the company's registered office in North Patenga on Friday. The annual general meeting was presided over by Chairman (Secretary) BPC & ERL Board of Directors ABM Azad.  In the meeting, the shareholders achieved the highest net profit after tax of Tk 47,89.09 lakh in the 55-year history of the organization by refining 13.77 lakh tonnes of crude oil and depositing Tk 20,85.99 lakh to the government exchequer for the financial year 2021-22. The management authorities and all levels of officers and employees were highly appreciated for continuing the company's profit making process and the overall activities were carried out with great efficiency, dedication and integrity.

 In the meeting ERL Board Member SM Zakir Hossain, Additional Secretary (Operations), Energy and Mineral Resources Department;  Md. Mosharraf Hossain Mollah, Director General (Additional Secretary) BPC;  Khalid Ahmed, Additional Secretary and Director (Operations) BPC;  Mohammad Elias Hossain, Joint Secretary (Administration), Department of Energy and Mineral Resources;  Shamim Ahmed, Director General (Joint Secretary), Directorate of Military Lands and Cantonment, Dhaka Cantonment;  Kazi Muhammad Mozammel Haque, Joint Secretary and Director (Finance), BPC;  Anupam Barua, Joint Secretary and Director (Marketing), BPC;  Muhammad Ashraf Hossain, Secretary, BPC;  Engineer Md. Lokman, Managing Director, ERL and senior executives of BPC and ERL were present.

 At the end of the meeting, ERL and BPC Chairman ABM Azad expressed his sincere thanks and gratitude to all concerned for providing him with all-out support in managing the company's operations and sought everyone's cooperation to achieve the future prosperity of the company.
