DU students bring out victory rally

Victory rallies, to celebrate the historic win of the ICC 2020 Cricket World Cup title by young Tigers, were brought out in several cities of the country, including in the Dhaka University campus on Tuesday.

Jubilant students chanted slogans with banners and placards praising the young boys for their outstanding achievements. They shouted slogans voicing for the incredible success. They also praised the boys for defeating such a heavy weight giant Indian cricket team.

The rally at the Dhaka University was organised by Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) joined by the BCL DU unit. Several hundred thrilled students joined the rally that cheered all passersby. Common people near the TSC also joined to express their happiness.

Meanwhile, several hundred people in the respective home town of the under 19 cricket players, also celebrated winning the world cup title. In Rangpur, the home town of the skipper Akbar Ali, cricket fans brought out huge rallies chanting slogans, ‘Akbar the Great’, Akbar the Great’.

Elsewhere, in Sylhet, Chandpur and Chittagong, fireworks have already lit up the skies soon after the winning moments while similar rallies were brought to celebrate the winning of the World Cup match.

Many of the delighted fans said that such occasion does not come everyday and so a female student had joined the rally. ‘I am so excited that our boys are now on top of the world. Can you imagine the excitement?’ Ruma, a college student in Chittagong said.
“Victory is ours, victory is ours!’ chanted another jubilant cricket fan in Rangpur describing Akbar’s calm head and responsible batting perhaps won the World Cup.
