In order to keep the cyber space of Bangladesh and India safe, both the countries have decided to work together.
At the same time, India will invest in the country's ICT sector also.
State minister for Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology Zunaid Ahmed Palak said this to reporters after a meeting with Indian High Commissioner Pranay Verma at his office at the secretariat in the capital on Thursday.
The meeting discussed how Bangladesh-India can move forward on the basis of partnership. In addition to the ongoing cooperation aimed at the priority plans of the government in the next 5 years, new plans were also discussed.
According to the meeting, an international cyber drill will be held soon to clear the cyber skies of the two countries. There were also discussions on increasing Indian investment in the private sector of data center construction, postal, telecom and ICT. In this regard, more attention will be given to accelerate the Bangladesh-India startups. On the contrary, Bangladesh will stand by the country in building Digital India. And India will stand by Bangladesh in building Smart Bangladesh.
While highlighting the experience of G20, Indian ambassador Pranay Verma said that Bangladesh has taken initiative to become a smart Bangladesh by 2041. And we have taken up the ambition of building Digital India.
Both countries are working to empower the people by ensuring people's participation using technology. That is why we have discussed how to develop digital public infrastructure development in Bangladesh, specialized templates for the logistics sector.
In the discussion, there were fruitful talks about advancing the ongoing projects for the development of the IT sector in Bangladesh and innovation for modern development, skill development of the youth, and future-oriented entrepreneurs.
"We are both digitally connected countries. We are now going to strengthen this connection more by joining the digital payments network.
All kinds of joint partnership will be for the welfare of the people of the two countries," added the high commissioner.
On the other hand, Palak said that the Prime Ministers of both countries have said that we are passing the golden chapter of friendship. The construction of 12 hi-tech parks in our country is progressing at a fast pace with the aid from India. Here thousands of youth will have smart job resources.
"Our export earnings will increase. Investment opportunities will also be created. We hope to get India's help in the three priorities given by the Prime Minister in these five years," added Palak.
