The country is now on the highway of development due to the visionary leadership of the present government.
When the remaining ongoing development work is once implemented, the country’s economic landscape will be changed.
Bangladesh has become a role model in the world as revolutionary development has taken place in the last one era.
Yet, so many things remain to be done, and in the continuation of development, the country will become a developed country before 2041.
State Minister for Social Welfare Md Ashraf Ali Khan Khasru said this while speaking as chief guest at a discussion meeting and award distribution programme titled ‘Bangladesh on the Highway of Development’ organized by Bangladesh Consumer Rights Protection Committee at Dhaka Reporters' Unity's Nasrul Hamid Auditorium in the capital on Tuesday.
The state minister said, “Bangladesh is on the right path of development. There has been a revolution in the agricultural sector of the country, Manga has been eradicated from North Bengal, the shortage of downstream areas has been eliminated and the rate of begging in the country has decreased”.
Referring to various development projects, the state minister said, “People of the country have witnessed unimaginable development in the last one decade. The dream Padma Bridge connecting South Bengal is now a reality, every highway in the country is developed like in Europe.
Various mega projects including Metrorail, Karnaphuli Tunnel and others are expected to change the economic landscape of the country”.
According to the government’s election promise, the government is working to ensure electricity, communication infrastructure and quality of education in every village like in the city.
“As a result of the development activities of the present government, the wheel of the country's economy is still moving in the midst of various disasters. If this continuity is maintained, Bangladesh will become a developed and prosperous country ahead of schedule,” the state minister said.
Director General of Power Cell, Engineer Mohammad Hossain, President of Bangladesh Awami Swechchhasebak League Central Executive Parliament Nirmal Ranjan Guha, and others spoke on the occasion under the chairmanship of President of Bangladesh Consumer Rights Protection Committee Khaled MH Chowdhury.
