Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal on Thursday said revenue collection in current fiscal 2019-20 is higher than the previous fiscal 2018-19, reports BSS.
‘The government always sets a big revenue collection target as all related authorities try to fulfill the target. The revenue collection in this fiscal is around Taka 12,000 crore higher than the same period of the previous fiscal,’ he told journalists after a meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Government Purchase (CCGP) at the Cabinet Division in the city.
Responding to a question, Kamal said top managements of the state-own commercial banks are being appointed by taking approval from Bangladesh Bank. If such provisions are implemented for the private commercial banks, it will be better for the banking sector, he added.
‘We have taken steps for amending some provisions in the existing bank company law. I am yet to see the draft amendment. After the draft, we will place it at the cabinet meeting. The meeting will take decision. Then it will be placed before parliament for approval,’ he added.
