Speakers suggest at EEC-DScE webinar

Speakers at a webinar focused on creating job opportunities for low-income group of people and fighting the Covid-19 pandemic through vaccination.

They said many self-employed and low-income people have been rendered unemployed during Covid-19 pandemic and the situation would get worse if the Covid-19 situation lingers.

Entrepreneurial Economist Club (EEC) and Dhaka school of Economics (DScE), a Dhaka University affiliated institution, jointly organised the webinar titled ‘Effect of Pandemic and Unemployment’ on Wednesday.

Dr Anisul M Islam, Professor of University of Houston-Downtown in the USA attended the webinar as the chief guest while Professor Parul Khana, Vice-Principal at IMT in India’s Faridabad, presented the keynote paper. Dr Ireen Akter, Professor of Jahangirnagar University, and Dr Yashoda Krishna from GNVS Institute of Management in India, attended the function as the special guests.

Dr Muhammad Mahboob Ali, Professor and Coordinator of Entrepreneurship Economics Programme at DScE, chaired the webinar. Dr Ashu Jain, Coordinator of Department of Tax Procedure and Practice at Aloysus College in India, Rehana Parvin and Sara Tasneem, Assistant Professors of DScE, and Umman Nahar Azmee, President of EEC, among others, spoke at the function.
