Chattogram Port Authority Member (Engineering) Captain M Mahbubur Rahman has been promoted to the rank of Commodore on Thursday.
Commodore Mohammad Mahbubur Rahman, (E), PSC, BN joined the Bangladesh Navy as an Officer Cadet in 1993 and was commissioned in the Engineering Branch in 1995. After obtaining the competency certificate, he served as an engineer officer in various small, medium ships and frigates of the Bangladesh Navy.
Commodore Mahbubur received his bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from Chattogram University of Engineering (CUET). He is a graduate of Defence Services Command and Staff College and holds a Master's degree from Bangladesh University of Professional Studies. He has also participated in various courses in the country and abroad.
He was engaged in various staff and training duties during his career. He served as Training Commander of Bangladesh Navy Training Base. Besides, he served as General Manager (Production) at Dockyard and Engineering Works Limited and General Manager (Shipbuilding) at Chattogram Dry Dock Limited.
Internationally, he was deployed as a Military Observer in the UN Mission in Georgia and as a member of the UN Peacekeeping Contingent in South Sudan.
Before joining Chattogram Port, he served as Director Engineering at Bangladesh Coast Guard Headquarters.

Commodore Mahbubur joined Chattogram Port as Member (Engineering) on 21 November 2021 and is serving with distinction.
