Covid situation improves

7 deaths in 24 hrs

The coronavirus situation improves further as Bangladesh registered 7 more deaths from Covid-19, the lowest in the last 7 months, till 8am Friday. This takes the total number of deaths to 27,654. The current positivity rate dropped to 2.77 pc.

Earlier on March 11, the country recorded six Covid deaths.

The country recorded 645 new infections in the meantime taking the total number of people infected to 1,561,463, according to a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on Friday.

The death rate now stands at 1.77 percent in the country, the release added. Around 23,302samples were tested during this time. 

Among the seven deceased, there were three men and four women. Among the deaths reported on Friday, three each died in Dhaka and Chattogram divisions, one died in Rangpur division. 

Around 814 people recovered from the virus during the time. A total of 1,522,591people have recovered so far from the virus and the recovery rate stands at 97.51 percent. 

As of Friday, 4,851,696 people died of Covid-19 across the world and 237,649,405 have been infected so far, according to Worldometer.
