Covid infection rate declines further

10 die in 24 hrs

Bangladesh registered10 more deaths in 24 hours from Covid-19 till 8am Thursday. The total number of deaths has reached to 29,005 with the latest figure.

A total of 1515 people were newly infected during the time and the total number of people infected rose to 1,939,651, according to a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on Thursday.

The current positivity dropped to 5.53 percent and the overall positivity rate stands at 14.57 percent.

Earlier on Wednesday, five people died from the virus and 1,298 people contracted the virus on that day. 

In addition, the death rate now stands at 1.50 percent in the country, added the release.

Of the five deceased, three were from Dhaka, Chattogram each, one each from Khulna and Sylhet each and two from Rangpur.

A total of 27,250 samples were tested across the country till 8am Thursday. 

Some 6,459 Covid-19 patients have recovered during this period. A total of 1,786,146 people have recovered from the virus so far and the recovery rate stands at 92.09 percent.

As of Thursday, 5,939,650 people died of Covid-19 across the world and 430,682,399 have been infected so far, according to Worldometer.
