Covid detection rate nearly 9 percent

Two more people died of coronavirus infection in 24 hours in the country. With this, the total number of deaths in the country stood at 28,107.

At the same time, 2,458 people were newly identified. In contrast to the test, the detection rate has increased to 8.97 percent. 

The total number of those identified increased to 1598389 people. In a statement additional director general of the Department of Health (Administration) Professor Dr. Nasima Sultana made the disclosure on Tuesday. 

In 24 hours, 27,709 samples were collected, the health department said in a statement. 27399 samples were tested. In contrast to the test, the detection rate is 8.97 percent. The total detection rate is 13.63 percent. 

In the last 24 hours, 274 people have recovered from coronavirus, so far 1551387 people have recovered. 

In the last 24 hours one died each in Chattogram and Khulna divisions. No deaths were reported in the remaining sections. 

The first case of coronavirus infection (Covid-19) in the country was identified on March 8 last year. Ten days later, on March 18, the first person died from coronavirus.
