Different political and socio-cultural organisations held protest rally and formed human chain across the country protesting against the death threat by a BNP leader to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
Different units of Chattogram city, north and south district Awami League (AL) on Monday organised separate protest rallies and processions in the city and different upazilas of the district protesting a threat to kill AL President and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina by a BNP leader in Rajshahi.
Various units of Chattogram city AL, all upazila units AL of Chattogram north
and south district along with different political, cultural organisations and
Bangladesh Chhatra League in different educational institutions brought out
separate demonstrations in their respective areas protesting a threat to kill
AL President by a BNP leader.
Chattogram City AL led by its acting President Mahtab Uddin Chowdhury and its
General Secretary AJM Nasir Uddin brought out a protest rally from city's
Andarkillah area at 4 pm on Monday.
The rally concluded in front of Chattogram Press Club after parading different important city streets. Speaking on the occasion, Mahtab Uddin Chowdhury demanded immediate arrest of
the culprits who issued the threat to kill AL President and Bangabandhu
daughter Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. He also urged to ensure exemplary
punishment to the offender.
Demanding proper punishment to the culprits, AJM Nasir Uddin urged the AL
leaders and activists to be alert against any conspiracy against the country.
Chattogram south district AL brought out a protest rally led by its acting
President Motaherul Islam Chowdhury from city's Laldigi area at 3 pm on Monday.
The procession paraded the important streets in the city and concluded
following a brief rally.
Chattogram North District AL brought out a procession led by its President MA
Salam from New market area at 3.30 pm and concluded at the same venue after
parading main city streets.
A large protest rally was brought under the leadership of Manikganj District Awami League today in the town protesting a threat to kill Awami League President and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina by a BNP leader in Rajshahi.
A meeting was held after the rally in town where District AL President also the Chairman of Manikganj Zilla Parishad freedom fighter Advocate Golam Mohiuddin presided over. District AL General Secretary also the Public Prosecutor (PP) of Manikganj Advocate Abdus Salam, former joint secretary of district AL AFM Sultanul Azam Khan Apel and local leader Advocate Badrul Islam Khan Babul among others spoke on the occasion.
The speakers of the rally demanded immediate arrest of the culprits who issued the threat to kill AL chief and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. They also urged to ensure exemplary punishment to the offender.
The speakers also urged the AL leaders and activists to be alert against any conspiracy against the country.
The protest rallies were also brought out at Upazila levels in the district.
