Chinese Envoy calls on DU VC

Chinese Ambassador in Bangladesh Li Jiming paid a courtesy call on Dhaka University (DU) Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Md. Akhtaruzzaman on Thursday evening, November 7, 2019 at his residential office of the university. He was accompanied by some other high officials from Chinese Embassy in Dhaka.

During the meeting DU Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Md. Akhtaruzzaman said, an excellent friendly relationship has been prevailing between Bangladesh and China for long time. He stressed the need for further strengthening bi-lateral ties between the two countries in different fields including education, research, trade, business, economics and culture.

DU Vice-Chancellor apprised the envoy of a brief history of Dhaka University. He also recalled the outstanding contribution of this university to different democratic movements, Liberation War in 1971 and Language Movement in 1952. The Ambassador congratulated Prof. Dr. Md. Akhtaruzzaman with a floral bouquet for reappointing as the Vice-Chancellor of Dhaka University.
