China has gifted a sculpture of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
The gift was given by Chinese President Xi Jinping on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of independence and marking the Mujib borsho.
Chinese Ambassador in Dhaka, Li Jiming handed over the sculpture to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at a ceremony at the Ganabhaban on Monday.
Chinese President Xi Jinping was invited to attend a ceremony marking the golden jubilee of independence of Bangladesh and celebration of Mujib borsho. However, even if Xi is unable to come to Dhaka, he will send a video message.
