Bangladesh Bank has lifted the ban on entry of journalists into the central bank, which was imposed earlier.
Bangladesh Bank Deputy Governor Kazi Saidur Rahman confirmed this during a view exchange meeting with the leaders and members of the Economic Reporters Forum (ERF), an organization of economic journalists.
The meeting took place at the conference room of Bangladesh Bank on Tuesday. Kazi Saidur Rahman said, the governor is not present at office today, but he asked everyone to continue their work.
He also said that Bangladesh Bank is working to restructure the banking sector and ready to work with the new government. All types of information will be shared with journalists as before. Their entry will not be barred, he added. He said, like others, they are happy with this victory of the students.
Deputy Governor Nurun Nahar, Md. Habibur Rahman and Executive Director Khurshid Alam, Mejbaul Haque and other officials were also attended in the discussion meeting.
On behalf of ERF, President Refaet Ullah Mirdha, General Secretary Abul Kashem and other members were present.
