A census monitoring app has been developed to monitor the progress of census data collection activities. Through this app, it will be possible to do real time monitor (instantaneous monitoring) of field level data collection activities.

This process will play a significant role in gathering accurate information. Besides, it will be possible to publish the census report in less time.

Mohammad Dildar Hossain, director of the Census and Household Census -- 2022 project, informed this through a press release on Thursday.

It was informed by the PD that the main data collection activities of the census will be conducted between June 15 and 21. This time Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics (BBS) will conduct the first 'digital census'.

The census will collect data at the field level using digital maps with GIS (Geographic Information System) and tablets using CAPI (Computer Assisted Personal Interview Wing) method.

As per the information, those who are temporarily engaged in the census activities, including local educated youths and women, will collect the data of every household and individual through the tablet.

The data center of Bangladesh Data Center Company Limited (BDCCL) will be used to ensure data storage and security of data collected from the field level. Data collected from the field stage will remain secure until it reaches the server through which the security of personal information is being ensured.

Before the start of the census at 12 am on June 14, will be considered as ‘census reference point or time’ and June 15-21 will be considered as ‘Census Week’.
