CCCI president calls on Japanese ambassador

Chittagong Chamber of Commerce and Industries President Mahbubul Alam paid a courtesy call on Japanese Ambassador to Bangladesh Ito Naoki.

They met in a courtesy call at the chamber's office at the World Trade Center on Sunday.  Vice President of the Chamber Syed Mohammad Tanvir and Head of Public Relations and Culture of the Japanese Embassy Komine Kane were present at the occasion.

Referring to the Memorandum of Understanding between the Chittagong Chamber, JETRO and JBCCI, Ambassador Ito Naoki said that the MoU was helping to strengthen trade relations between Bangladesh and Japan.

He lauded the Bay of Bengal Growth Summit planned under the MoU as a commendable step towards celebrating the golden jubilee of 50 years of good relations between Japan and Bangladesh next year and assured full cooperation from the Embassy.

Chamber President Mahbubul Alam sought the cooperation of the Embassy of Japan for the Bay of Bengal Growth Summit and emphasized on organizing bilateral trade tours between Japan and Bangladesh. Syed Mohammad Tanvir, Vice-President of the Chamber, sought the cooperation of the Embassy to establish a Japan-based technical education institution with the Bangladesh Chamber of Excellence, a new venture of the Chittagong Chamber.
