CCC prepares to deal with cyclone Mocha

Chattogram City Corporation (CCC) has prepared 90 shelters to reduce the loss of life and property in addition to providing services to the citizens through the control room to deal with cyclone Mocha.  

The people of Chattogram will get all kinds of information and services related to the cyclone at the emergency service number 023-333-630-739 of this control room in Dampara of the city.

 CCC Mayor Md Rezaul Karim Chowdhury said in the meeting of CCC Disaster Management Sub-Committee on Wednesday that if the cyclone Mocha hits, we should be vigilant to keep the loss of life and property to a minimum and post-disaster recovery work to be carried out at the highest speed.  .

 Decisions taken in the meeting are preparation of 90 shelters in 41 wards, formation of control rooms, preparation meetings at ward level led by ward councilors and taking any necessary steps through intensive monitoring of the speed of cyclone Mocha.  Mikeing will be done in every area to create awareness among the citizens.  Urban medical teams, urban volunteers and rescue workers have been kept ready.  Preparations will be made to keep clean water, dry food, necessary vehicles and electricity supply and road lights uninterrupted during the cyclone.

 CCC Chief Executive Officer Sheikh Muhammad Tauhidul Islam, Secretary Khaled Mahmud, Councilor Md Zahurul Alam Jasim, Md Elias, Chief Revenue Officer Mohammad Nazrul Islam, Chief Education Officer Lutfun Nahar, Special Magistrate Manisha Mahajan, Mayor's Private Secretary and Chief Cleaning Officer Muhammad Abul Hashem, Superintending Engineer Jhulan Kumar Dash, Deputy Secretary Ashek Rasul Chowdhury (Tipu), Acting Chief Health Officer Imam Hossain Rana, Red Crescent City Secretary Abdul Jabbar, Urban Planner Abdullah Al Omar, Slum Development Officer Moinul Hossain Ali Chowdhury were present in the meeting.
