BVCCI celebrates golden jubilee of independence

Bangladesh-Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry celebrated the golden jubilee of Bangladesh’s independence at Novo Tower last week.

Ambassador of Vietnam to Bangladesh Pham Viet Chien, BVCCI President and Managing Director of Novo Group Syed Mustafizur Rahman, and Chairman of Runner Group Hafizur Rahman Khan were present on the occasion along with BVCCI Board of Directors Anik Rashed Khan, Eakub Ali, Abdus Sobhan, Tipu and Ahmed Sarwar, among others. 

The bilateral relationship between Vietnam and Bangladesh is excellent and both countries are looking forward to further cooperation and development, said Vietnamese Ambassador Pham Viet Chien while expressed his gratitude to the people of Bangladesh.

"Bangladesh continues to flourish… It is an economic powerhouse in South Asia. That's the best honour to Bangabandhu," the ambassador said while attending the twin celebrations of Mujib Borsho and the golden jubilee of Bangladesh's Independence.

"Vietnam and Bangladesh share the same vision of development," he mentioned, adding that Vietnam targets to become a developed country by 2045 and Bangladesh has vision 2041 to become a developed nation by 2041. "We share the vision and are looking at the same future," the Ambassador said.

 He also expressed his satisfaction with the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and appreciated the performance of the country till now.

BVCCI President Rahman shared his idea to better understand export-import rules between the two countries. He also requested the ambassador for taking steps through G2G by developing bilateral relation between the two countries.

There are scopes to work together in the fields of agriculture, electronics industry, agro machinery and fisheries, pharmaceuticals, etc, Rahman said, adding, BVCCI is always ready to provide necessary cooperation in the public and private sector.

Hafizur Rahman Khan, Chairman of Runner Group expressed his gratitude to the ambassador of Vietnam to Bangladesh and BVCCI president. He suggested making a list for at least 20 to 25 items which the countries can begin importing and exporting between each other.

Both countries may look to sign MoU for expediting and developing trade and financial connectivity between each other in this regard, he suggested.

The programme ended by vote of thanks to each other by the attendees, wishing quick development of Bangladesh and Vietnam.
