The newly added ship 'MV Banglar Pragati' to the fleet of Bangladesh Shipping Corporation (BSC) began its first commercial voyage from China's Xinjiang International Berth at 10 am local time on Monday. After completing all the formalities, the Bangladeshi flagged ship is marking a new chapter in the history of BSC.

BSC Managing Director Commodore Mahmudul Malek said that by the grace of Almighty Allah, 'Banglar Pragati' is setting off on its first commercial voyage. This is undoubtedly the biggest achievement in the history of BSC over five decades.

It is known that 'Banglar Pragati' is one of the newly added modern ships to the fleet of BSC, which has been built maintaining international standards. With its addition, the capacity of Bangladesh's national shipping sector has further increased. BSC purchases the ship with its own financing

BSC own financing will purchase two modern bulk carriers with a capacity of 55,000 to 66,000 deadweight (DWT). The sea transport capacity will increase by about 1,20,000 DWT, which will be a significant addition to the country's maritime trade. Bangladesh will earn the respect of environmentally friendly green shipping in the world.
