Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) has again become desperate to unleash terror across the country in the name of politics in a bid to halt the upcoming national election.
They have already started their old dirty politics of misusing dead bodies, even by using the body of an innocent youth, who was brutally killed in Lakshimpur on Tuesday following previous personal disputes.
Leading political observers condemned the ill motives of the BNP. They urged the law enforcing agencies to take stern action against these anti-democratic forces for the sake of the flourishing of democracy in the country.
Intelligence agencies also suspected that BNP will intensify these types of destructive politics of dead bodies only to embarrass the current elected government at home and abroad.
Lakshmipur Superintendent of Police Md Mahfuzzaman said the death of a Krishak Dal activist Sajib Hossen in Lakshmipur during Tuesday's clash between supporters of the Awami League and the BNP, was completely a non-political incident.
But the BNP central committee on Thursday held a so-called mourning rally in the capital Dhaka in the name of protesting the killing of Sajib Hossen.
BNP’s rally kicked off from the party's central office in Nayapaltan at around 4:00pm, went through Kakrail passing Fakirapool and returned to the party office on Thursday causing severe traffic jams in busy roads on the last working day of the week.
In the rally, BNP leaders falsely blamed Awami League leaders for Sajib's death, though it was crystal clear that Sajib did not join in BNP’s road march on Tuesday and he was killed following personal disputes.
Without any evidence, Shahid Uddin Chowdhury Anny, the BNP's central publicity secretary also claimed that ruling party activists killed Sajib.
However, SP Mahfuzzaman confirmed to local journalists that Sajib was not killed in the clash. The place where BNP activists attacked the police is 2.5 kilometres away from the place where Sajib died.
A call to 999 came in after his death. The police were busy preventing the clash. Later, the police went there and recovered the body and sent it to Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy, the SP narrated.
He said Sajib came to the city on personal work and was stabbed by a miscreant.
Though the BNP leadership also knew the truth , they announced protest programmes including wearing black badge to protest the death of Sajib.
Lakshmipur-2 constituency MP and Lakshmipur district Awami League general secretary Advocate Noor Uddin Chowdhury Nayan also said Sajib was a pedestrian who was not in a political spot and was not a political activist. No one from Awami League was involved in the incident, he said.
According to eyewitnesses, a clash erupted between supporters of the Awami League and the BNP at Samad Intersection in Lakshmipur during the BNP's road march. But Sajib was stabbed in the left arm with a sharp weapon 2.5 kilometres away from the place where BNP activists attacked the police.
He took shelter at the Feroza Tower near Madinulllah Housing on College Road, where he died due to excessive bleeding, eyewitnesses said.
Another eyewitness said that before death, Sajib himself told him that he was stabbed due to a personal conflict related to financial transactions and marriage.
But the BNP has started nasty politics with the body of innocent youth Sajib. This murder has nothing to do with politics, it was completely an isolated incident.
Preliminary investigation revealed that Sajib's murder was a completely isolated incident. BNP is circulating propaganda in a pre- planned way to gain political advantage.
Local sources said four-five youths stabbed Sajib with a knife over a personal dispute centered around money. Sajib died due to excessive bleeding.
Before his death, the deceased Sajib told Noman, owner of a flat of Feroza Tower, that he had a dispute with some people regarding financial transactions. He had not participated in any BNP rally or been involved in any political activities. Earlier, the incident was reported to the police by calling 999. Police recovered Sajib's body from that house and took it to Sadar Hospital.
Superintendent of Police of Lakshmipur also said that no one died in police firing. The deceased Sajib died of knife wounds. Doctors found injury marks of sharp weapons on his body. CCTV footage also showed Sajib's bloodied body and dying scene.
But the BNP has started nasty politics with the body of Sajib. Some are terming him a worker of Krishak Dal, some are identifying him a worker of Chhatra Dal. Thus BNP leaders and activists and the rumor cell of BNP are putting the blame on the government by spreading rumors that they are their workers.
On this side, senior local veterans said that BNP has again started the politics of conspiracy ahead of the national elections. BNP does not hesitate even to commit such heinous crimes.
