Leaders of Bangladesh-Malaysia Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BMCCI) and The Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) attended a meeting at Bangladesh-Malaysia Chamber of Commerce and Industry premises to discuss the progress, prospects and future challenges of RMG industry in Malaysia and Bangladesh.
The BMCCI President Raquib Mohammad Fakhrul (Rocky) emphasized on the promotion of our native products like boutique shirts. He also emphasized on the relocation of Malaysian sun set industries in Bangladeshi economic zone. In the meeting, Faisal Samad, Senior vice President of BGMEA emphasized on the importance of signing FTA with Malaysia. He mentioned Showcase Bangladesh is a platform to explore Bangladeshi products and services, particularly in garments.
He assured BGMEA’s support and cooperation to extend garments market in Malaysia. BMCCI past President Syed Nurul Islam thanked BGMEA Acting President for his intend to support BMCCI to explore market as earlier. He added, now a days Bangladesh is capable of producing high quality and value added products.
Among others, Standing Committee on Market Development-Non Traditional Ms. Rumana Rashid and Vice President(Finance) M.A. Rahim (Feroz), BGMEA Additional Secretary (Trade Promotion) Nur Mohammad Amin Rasel, BMCCI Hon.Treasurer, Syed Moinuddin Ahmed, BMCCI immediate past President Syed Moazzam Hossain, Hon. Jt. Secretary General Dato’ Goonahlam Subramaniam, Director K. M. Mijanur Rahman, Director Mahbub Alam Shah, Director Sifat Ahmed Chaudhuri, BMCCI Member Mr. Md. Mojaher Uddin Chowdhury, Member Mr. Md. Rezaul Ahasan, some renowned businessmen from the textile sector and journalists were also present in the meeting.
