Fixing Biman schedule will get preference to make Biman Bangladesh Airline popular among the passengers in the coming days.  At the same time, anti-corruption drive will be continued to make Biman profitable.

Dr Abu Saleh Mostafa Kamal said this while talking to journalists at Balaka Bhaban in the capital on Monday. He has joined as Managing Director and CEO of Biman recently.

He said, "I think if we can keep up discipline of Biman's schedule, we will be able to make the national flag carrier popular among the passengers. Similarly, it’s the main thing to make Biman profitable".

While talking about the ongoing drive against corruption he said, "Corruption is like cancer, if we do not uproot corruption it can destroy an organization, even a country. So, we will continue our drive to uproot corruption from Biman".

As a new managing director Dr Abu Saleh Mostafa Kamal said, "Biman has its own plan, with this I will find and analyse new potentials. Based on this, new decision will be taken with the participations of all stake holders. As modern aircraft has been added to its fleet, we will soon start operating flight to new destinations".

"To find out new profitable routes, Biman's officials are working relentlessly. Our latest longhaul aircraft is our advantage to operate flight on new international destinations while we are also considering to resume flights on all domestic destinations", added Mostafa Kamal.

Biman now operates flights on seven domestic and 19 international destinations. Due to the outbreak of Covid-19, domestic flight operation on Barishal, Rajshahi, and Jessore, international flights on Marina, Manchester, Kuwait, and Bangkok remain suspended.

Presently, Biman has 20 aircraft to its fleet. Of them, four are Boeing 777-300 ER, two Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, four 787-8 Dreamliner, six Boeing 737-800 and five Dash 8Q 400.
