As per the direction of Bangladesh Bank, the commercial banks have kept their branches open today (Saturday) like yesterday in Dhaka city to facilitate the nomination submission of the candidates for two city corporations polls.
The central banks, in a circular, sent to the bank chiefs on Thursday (Dec 26), instructed the banks to ensure adequate security in the branches.
As per the schedule announced by the Election Commission on Dec 22, elections to the Dhaka South City Corporation and the Dhaka North City Corporation will be held on Jan 30 next year.
