Mercantile Bank Limited’s former deputy managing director (DMD) Nurul Alam Chowdhury passed away on Sunday morning (Innalillahi Wa Inna Ilaihi Rajiun).
He breathed his last around 6:30am at a hospital in the capital at the age of 74, said a press release.
Nurul Alam has left his wife, sons, daughters and a host of relatives and well-wishers to mourn his day.
The first Namaz-e-Janaza (funeral prayer) for him took place in capital’s Gulshan Central Mosque after the Asar prayer. The second Namaz-e-Janaza will be held at Sitakundu in Chattogram before he is laid to rest at the family graveyard on Monday.
The board of directors and management of Mercantile Bank remembered Nurul Alam’s contribution to the development and progress of the bank since inception.
The board of directors, executives, officers and employees of Mercantile Bank expressed deep shock at his death.
