Bangladesh Election Commission (EC) has become digitalized since 2019. EC has formed several online platforms where citizens of Bangladesh can get their National Identity (NID) card details by using their voter slip number.
Every new voter is provided with the registration form’s ‘Applicant copy’ during the registration period. EC requires applicants to bring a copy to collect their NID card from the selected booths (usually the registration point).
However, you may need the NID details or a copy of the card before EC officially hands it over to you. In that case, you can download the NID copy from the online platform without any fee.
We will share all the necessary information and processes to download NID card online copy.
⦁ https://services.nidw.gov.bd/voter_center : This website provides NID numbers and voter information through voter form or slip number.
⦁ https://services.nidw.gov.bd/nid-pub/claim-account: This is the most updated website for downloading NID card copies quickly without any fee. In addition, voters can get their voter information by registering on this portal. On top of that, if you are a new voter, you can apply for a new NID card on this portal.
⦁ Voter slip: The voter slip has a form number, which is required to find your NID number. You might have been given a voter slip if you have already registered for a NID card. You will be given the voter slip if you are applying as a new voter (also found in the last section of the form mentioned above).

Voters can download NID in two ways, through the website or the NID Wallet app(https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=bd.gov.nidw.nid.wallet).
You need to verify your face while downloading the NID copy through the app. On the other hand, it’s less hassle to download from the website. Only the form number/voter slip number will do.
Below we will share how you can download NID from the website:
⦁ You have to visit (https://services.nidw.gov.bd/voter_center), or (https://services.nidw.gov.bd/nid-pub/claim-account) from a mobile phone or desktop browser. You will see a screen like below. You have to type the registration form's slip number, birth date, and a captcha code here. Now, you can click on the ‘See Voter Information’ button.
⦁ You will see the NID number on the screen on the next page. You need to follow another step to download the NID card from the server. This step will help you download the NID from the EC official website.
⦁ Before beginning this step, make sure you have found the NID number. In addition, you need to submit your birth date current & permanent address (as given in the Voter Registration Form).
⦁ You also need to submit your contact number. However, if you don’t have the desired mobile number, you can submit a new mobile number to receive the OTP (One Time Password).
Now visit ( https://services.nidw.gov.bd/nid-pub/claim-account ), and type NID number, date of birth, and captcha code. Then click on the submit button.
⦁ Upon clicking the submit button, you will see the contact number available on your registration form. Now, you can even change the contact number.
⦁ Enter the OTP and go to the next step. Now, you can set the Login Username and Password. Memorize it, or note it down. You will need it every time you log in to the NID portal.
⦁ You have to select the division name, district name, and police station name, as provided in the Voter Registration Form. Now, you will be eligible to download the NID Card.
⦁ A few seconds later, you will be redirected to the home page after Logging in to the account. Now, click on the Download button from the home page.
⦁ A pdf file will be downloaded shortly. Now you can print the NID card or use it online. You can even laminate the NID card's printed copy for better compatibility.
Voters can also apply for reissuing their lost NID card from the EC website. In addition, one can also change address or other information (blood group, misspelled name, etc.).
However, this will cost you some fee depending on the service and different delivery schedules. Moreover, you may need to submit several documents as proof (Police GD copy, Blood group test report, Electric and WASA bill, Birth certificate, etc.).
NID can give a citizen access to several services and advantages. Using this online copy of NID, you prove that you are a citizen of Bangladesh and your age is 18 years or more. You can even have facilities such as creating a bank account, mobile banking account, buying SIM cards, having government services.
In addition, you can submit a NID copy while applying for several jobs and fields where it is required.
If anyone has registered for national ID Bangladesh after 2019, they can see their NID Card online in the EC portal.
First, one needs to register on NID official website with their NID number or slip number. After login, they can download their NID card. However, we suggest you print it in color format and laminate the card for later use.

If any citizen of Bangladesh is 18 years old, they can apply for NID Card registration online with all necessary information. After application, one must submit the form to their local Election Commission office.
EC office will collect their biometric information and take a photo. When the application is approved, they can get a NID card instantly online. EC officials will provide a Smart NID card later.
If anyone has successfully registered for the NID card, they can collect their NID card from their local EC office. Local election offices are Upazila and District Election offices. Besides, people can also collect their NID cards online.
One can not download an old NID Card that is registered before 2019. If you have lost or damaged the old NID card, you can apply for reissuing a new one (the new version).
