Bangladesh Navy has remained prepared for post-disaster response, including emergency rescue, relief and medical assistance, as the cyclone “Fani’ could hit Bangladesh Friday midnight. “A total of 32 naval vessels in Chattogram, Khulna and Mongla naval areas are ready to provide emergency relief and medical assistance to the coastal areas during the urgent situation,” an Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) press release said.

Besides, the naval contingent has been prepared for deployment in the coastal areas of Khulna, Bagerhat, Satkhira, Barguna, Patuakhali, Barishal and Pirojpur, it added. It further said four naval vessels with a three-day emergency dry-food for two thousand families have remained ready to cope with the post-calamity situation while special medical teams have been formed to provide medical assistance during the storm.
