‘Bangabandhu’s philosophy of harmony’ prog held at DU

On the occasion of the golden jubilee of independence, Mujib Year and centenary of Dhaka University, a seminar titled 'Bangabandhu's philosophy of harmony' was organized by Dhaka University Center for Buddhist Heritage and Culture at Muzaffar Ahmed Chowdhury Auditorium on Wednesday. Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor Professor Md Akhtaruzzaman presided over the programme.

Former Governor of Bangladesh Bank and Bangabandhu Chair Professor of Dhaka University Dr Atiur Rahman was the chief guest at the seminar. Dean of the Faculty of Arts, Professor Abdul Basir spoke as a special guest. Convener of Sampriti Bangladesh, eminent playwright and heroic freedom fighter Pijush Bandyopadhyay presented the main article. The director of the center, Professor Biman Chandra Bara gave a welcome speech. 

Professor Dr Md Akhtaruzzaman paid deep homage to Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, Bangamata Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib and others who were martyred on 15th August 1975 and 3 million martyrs in the great war of liberation. He said that harmony is a value which Bangabandhu held deeply in his life and work. He called upon the teachers and students to work for the welfare of the country and the nation by teaching harmony, empathy and justice from the life style of Bangabandhu.

Professor Dr. Atiur Rahman said that the philosophy of harmony of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman is relevant for overcoming the current narrowness and violence in the world.
