The Bangabandhu Cup Golf Open 2022, one of the Asian Tour’s emerging tournaments, is going to take place in Dhaka on November 24-27.
Golfers from 23 countries will take part in the tournament to be held at the Kurmitola Golf Club in the Dhaka Cantonment.
Bangladesh Golf Federation is organising the international event sponsored by National Bank Limited.
The logo and trophy unveiling ceremony of the tournament will be held today (Tuesday) at 7:00 pm at the Kurmitola Golf Club.
Chief of Army Staff and President of Bangladesh Golf Federation General S M Shafiuddin Ahmed, as the chief guest, will attend the ceremony.
Director of Nation Bank and Chairman of R&R Aviation Ltd, R&R Holdings Ltd and PowerPac Holdings Ltd (Sikder Group) Rick Haque Sikder, Director of National Bank and Managing Director of R&R Aviation Ltd, R&R Holdings Ltd and PowerPac Holdings Ltd (Sikder Group) Ron Haque Sikder will join it as special guests.
President of Bangladesh Cricket Board Nazmul Hassan Papon, MP, Momtaz Begum, MP, famed actress Jaya Ahsan and Nazrul song exponent Shaheen Samad, among others, will also attend the ceremony which will be followed by a cultural event.
The tournament, which was last staged in 2019 and postponed in 2020 and 2021 because of the COVID-19 pandemic, will offer a purse of US$400,000.
The tournament will end on November 27 with the distribution of prizes among the winners.
Senior Vice President of Bangladesh Golf Federation Major General Md Zahirul Islam is the Chairman of the Organising Committee of the Bangabandhu Cup Golf Open 2022.
