Army Chief receives vaccine

Army Chief General Aziz Ahmed on Sunday received coronavirus or Covid-19 vaccine at the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) in the capital Dhaka, said an Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) Directorate hand out.     

After his vaccination, he urged all to take vaccine instead of paying attention to rumours.

General Aziz thanked the Prime Minister and also expressed his gratitude for her initiative of such well organized and disciplined arrangement of giving corona vaccine for the countrymen and the members of the armed forces.

Around 7,36,680 people so far received their first doses of the Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine against Covid-19. The immunization drive started on February 7 across the country.

According to the DGHS official, they have the capacity to vaccinate more than 3.60 lakh people per day.

DGHS official also said that the highest number of single-day turnout was 2,04,540 on Thursday, while the number of vaccine recipients was: 31,160 on Sunday, 46,509 on Monday, 1,01,082 on Tuesday and 1,58,451 on Wednesday.

The country plans to immunize 35 lakh people in the first phase of the inoculation which will continue till 7 March.
