The impact of winter is likely to become more intense with temperature falling further in the next few days. Furthermore, a new cold wave is feared in several districts of the country.

Nighttime temperatures can be dropped to 1 to 3 degree Celsius. However, the daytime temperature is likely to remain the same with insignificant fluctuation depending on the location. However, there is no forecast of rain. This situation is likely to continue till the end of the on-going week.

This information was shared in the weather forecast by the meteorological department on Sunday morning.

According to the forecast for the next 24 hours from 9 am, the weather will be dry across the country with temporary partly cloudy skies. Light to moderate fog is likely to fall in different places of the country from midnight to morning.

Meterilogist Abul Kalam told Bangladesh Post that a cold wave is on the rise in Kurigram and Panchagarh and it may continue for the next few days. This cold wave may spread to the rest of Rangpur division and some areas of Rajshahi and Khulna divisions.

“Some parts of the country experienced rain and fog in 24 hours till 6 pm Saturday. The lowest temperature was 8.9 degree Celsius in Tentulia,” he said.

According to the meteorological reports, the temperature may change slightly in the next three days. This could determine the level of the cold and the intensity of the cold wave and in which parts of the country it would be most prevalent.
