EPB honours ‘Anondomela’ with medal in best Preserved Pavilion Category in DITF

‘Anondomela’ trains 3000 women entrepreneurs in e-com., business management

Anondomela, an initiative under WING project of United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), has imparted training to more than 3,000 women entrepreneurs in e-commerce and business management.

The platform is a unique initiative for all small and medium entrepreneurs in Bangladesh, especially for women entrepreneurs.

Talking to Bangladesh Post, Sarah Zita, Coordinator, anondomela, under WING project of UNDP said ‘Anondomela’ is not only building a link between entrepreneurs and buyers, but also helping entrepreneurs to enhance their skills, create opportunities for financial inclusion and financing, and build economic empowerment. 

“I started working with women entrepreneurs of e-commerce in 2015 as the Chairman of women and e-commerce standing committee of e-CAB. Since then I have tried to organize women entrepreneurs and integrate them into the digital economy”, Sarah said.

She mentioned that the Export Promotion Bureau (EPB) has honored ‘Anondomela’ with a bronze medal in the Best Preserved Pavilion category.

 She further said from there and according to the activity of the website, they created the opportunity for 60 women entrepreneurs to display and sell their products at this year's Dhaka International Trade Fair (DITF) in Anondomela pavilion under the Wing Project. 

She informed that UNDP has borne the entire cost of transportation for the entrepreneurs during the fair.

The organizations participated in the ‘Anondomela’ stall at DITF include ‘Himur Swapna Bunon’, ‘Anusshor Fashion’, ‘Rong Toru’, ‘Ghurni by Panthy’, ‘Sara Butiks House’, ‘Nithan’, ‘Karuponno.  

Afsana Himu, proprietor of Himur Swapno Bunon’, said, “we are grateful to UNDP for creating this opportunity for us. 

We are getting a huge experience that will be very useful for our initiative in the future”.

Proprietor of ‘Anushhor Fashion’ Murshida Nupur told that they are happy with having such an opportunity.

“We got this opportunity from Anondomela online group, this 

will help us familiarizing our own brand. We used to post our products in the group all the time”, Nupur 

said.

Sarah Zita further said, “Our entrepreneurs have shown and sold their products along with the products of all the participating entrepreneurs. This is the spirit of mutual trust and cooperation that sets us apart. 

She expressed her satisfaction and thanked the EPB for awarding ‘Anondomela’ with a bronze medal in the Best Preserved Pavilion category in the trade fair.
