All religious educational institutions, including Qawmi madrasas, must be brought under the government's registration process, said Education Minister Dr Dipu Moni.
She made the statement in response to a question from Awami League lawmaker AKM Rahmatullah from Dhaka-11 constituency in the Parliament session on Sunday.

The education minister further said that Qawmi madrasas need to be brought under a single board.
“At the same time, registration is essential for the implementation of up-to-date education system in religious educational institutions,” she said.
She further said, “The government is considering formulating policies and bringing six separate boards under national education board.”
Dipu Moni mentioned that at present, there are 19,199 Qawmi madrasas in the country.
