Algerian company signs $1.2b export deal with Bangladeshi firm

A contract for exporting animal proteins to Bangladesh from Algeria was signed between the Balat Brothers Slaughterhouse Company and Ashta Feed Industries Limited of Bangladesh in a ceremony on Tuesday.

The Algerian Minister of Foreign Trade and Export Promotion, Professor Kamal Rezig attended the signing event.  

Lakhdar Balat, General Manager of the Balat Group, and Mosharaf Hossain Chowdhury, Chairman of Ashta Feed Industries Limited signed the contact on behalf of the respective sides.

The contract was valued at $1.2 million worth of animal proteins. It should be noted that the Balat Brothers Slaughterhouse Company had previously exported $2.5 million in the last three years. 

Under this contract, the value of exports will increase to $3.5 million annually.
