Amid the recent conspiracies being hatched by some political leaders and vested quarters, the ruling Awami League leaders plan to hold several programmes aimed at making the leadership of Prime Minister even stronger.
This comes when the country is well recognized for its handling of the pandemic situation centering the COVID-19 which has dramatically improved while the world is experiencing even worse situation.
The nation-wide programmes are planned to unite people and stand against such conspiracies being hatched by vested quarters, including BNP, Jamaat and anti-liberation forces.
It is widely known that some vested quarters are spreading rumours and false news in different ways to make people confused and tarnish the image of Bangladesh as well as its government.
According to the ruling Awami League, it has announced holding a series of programmes across the country from mid-February on the occasion of the International Mother Language Day, the birth centenary of Bangabandhu and the golden jubilee of the war of liberation.
Awami League general secretary, Obaidul Quader, also the Minister for Road, Transport and Bridges, has announced the series of programmes, including holding rallies and public relations programs, from February 15 at all the metropolitan cities, districts, upazilas, thanas, unions and even at the ward levels.
Obaidul Quader said that all the leaders in-charges of the divisions will coordinate the programs of their respective units in this regard.
While speaking at a function held at his official residence, Obaidul Quader urged all the leaders, activists and supporters of the Awami League to make successful all the programmes.
According to sources, like Awami League, some other parties are also trying to hold similar programmes as the corona situation is gradually improving in Bangladesh.
Accordingly, BNP is also trying to launch movement. The party has also announced several programmes at six divisional cities from February 13.
Meanwhile, sources said, although the BNP is trying to forge a movement against the government, but the party may not be able to gather its party men to make the programmes successful.
According to sources, the BNP is suffering mainly from leadership crisis. As a result, its leaders and supporters are almost scattered and confused over their leadership roles.
Meanwhile, Obaidul Quader termed the move of BNP as a part of the conspiracy to destroy the peaceful situation of the country.
It should be mentioned that the political arena of the country had remained almost calm due to COVID-19 pandemic. Since the month of March, no such major political rally or gathering took place in the country.
