Under the global theme "Ensuring a Healthy Psychosocial Working Environment," AKIJ Resource, one of the country's leading business conglomerates, observed World Day for Safety and health at Work 2026 on Tuesday.
On this occasion, rallies, awareness seminars, and quiz competitions were organised at the factories of AKIJ Resource's subsidiary companies — AKIJ Essentials, AKIJ Cement, AKIJ Ispat, AKIJ Asphalt plant, AKIJ Ready Mix Concreate, AKIJ Light Engineering, AKIJ Polyfibres, AKIJ Feed, and AKIJ Building Solutions.
In addition, a Hepatitis B screening and vaccination program for employees was jointly conducted by AKIJ Resource's charitable organisation, Sheikh Fariq Uddin Welfare Trust and Liver Care Vaccination.
Addressing the occasion, Major Zahidul Hassan (Retd.), Head of Corporate Services at AKIJ Resource, said, “Ensuring the mental well-being and safety of employees is one of the foremost policies of AKIJ Resource. We believe that a work environment built on mutual respect, cooperation and psychological balance is what ensures sustainable productivity in the long run.”
