Awami League candidate of Faridpur-3 (Sadar Upazilla) Shamim Haque has alleged that on Thursday night 11 election camps of AL were burnt by some unknown miscreants.
In a crowded press conference held at Faridpur Press Club, Shamim Haque said that the Independent candidate AK Azad with Eagle symbol has deployed huge number of anti-socials and thugs in his favour to create a terror in the constituency. These miscreants are definitely involved in the camp burning.
Those burnt camps are situated in the Jheeltuli, Char Kamalapur, East Khabashpur of the Pourashava area and others located in Kanaipur, North Channel, Ambikapur and Majchar Unions of Sadar Upazilla, he said.
Shamim Haque urged upon the administration and police to initiate an enquiry quickly to find out the miscreants and take action as per law.
A sizeable number of unknown outsiders are now staying at some residential houses of East Khabashpur and Char Kamalapur area of this town, he said. He urged the administration to verify their NIDs and make sure that they are genuine habitants of this town.
He further said that sensing the sure defeat independent candidate AK Azad has been trying to foil the upcoming 12th Jatiyo Sangsad election of this constituency. But such heinous attempts of AK Azad will not be successful so long a single worker of Bangabandhu’s celebrated daughter Sheikh Hasina is alive.
Awami League district committee secretary Shah Ishtiaq Arif and Pourashava Mayor and chief coordinator of AL candidate Amitav Bose also spoke.
