Airbus Executive Vice-President meets Dr Yunus

Executive Vice President of Airbus Wouter van Wersch called on Chief Adviser Muhammad Yunus at his hotel in London on Tuesday.

The chief adviser departed Dhaka for London on the evening of June 9 on an Emirates Airlines flight and reached this morning. He is currently on a four-day official visit.

In a separate meeting, Executive Vice President of Menzies Aviation Charles Wyley called on Yunus at his hotel.

Yunus' official itinerary includes a bilateral meeting with UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer, as well as courtesy calls with Foreign Secretary David Lammy, senior ministers, political leaders, and key policymakers.

On June 11, Yunus will deliver a speech at Chatham House in London, addressing Bangladesh's current realities, future prospects, and development challenges.

The chief adviser will also receive the prestigious King Charles III Harmony Award at a ceremony at St James's Palace on June 12.

The award, presented by The King's Foundation, honours contributions to harmony between people, nature, and sustainable development.

Last year's recipient was former UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon.

Yunus will also attend a special dinner celebrating the 35th anniversary of The King's Foundation and hold meetings with the Secretaries-General of the Commonwealth and the International Maritime Organisation.

Yunus will also hold a courtesy meeting with BNP acting chairman Tarique Rahman on June 13.

He is scheduled to return to Bangladesh on June 14.
